Ways to Help

Become a Volunteer!

Volunteering provides a meaningful, positive impact on the community.  Our clients receive valuable assistance from volunteers who provide companionship to isolated elderly people or people with disabilities in their own homes. Volunteers can also provide some assistance with transport and attendance at community activities, e.g. attending functions at the Finnish Hall or other cultural or social events, as well as  transport to medical appointments, shopping, etc. For more information on becoming a volunteer, please contact us.

Become a Member!

Membership entitles you to benefits including subsidised costs of attending events, as well as the right to vote during our Annual General Meeting and nominate for committee membership. Be involved in the running of our organisation and make a valued contribution to the Finnish community. Membership is FREE – for more information on becoming a member please download this membership form.

Make a tax deductible donation

The FFVS continues to receive partial support from the Commonwealth and State governments, but relies heavily on support from fundraising and donations from the wider community to provide services such as volunteer visiting in nursing homes, telephone support, etc.

If you would like to support the continued work of the FFVS please contact us  to request more information on how to make a tax deductible free-will donation, or download the printable donation form (blue link below) and return to us with your gift. Your support is greatly appreciated and helps to fund those services we cannot continue to run without government or other financial support.
